About The Hyde Group
The Hyde Group is one of the largest housing association groups in the country. We provide housing and related services to over 100,000 people in London, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire.
The Hyde Group consists of nine organisations:
- the parent body, Hyde Housing Association.
- five significant subsidiaries: Hyde Southbank Homes (HSH) which is responsible for estate regeneration in Lambeth; Hillside Housing Trust, which is re-developing the Stonebridge estate in Brent; Minster, which manages homes across the East of England and East Midlands, predominantly in Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire; Martlet Homes which, trading as HydeMartlet, manages approximately 10,000 homes across Hamphire, Sussex and Surrey; and in touch our supported housing subsidiary.
- three smaller subsidiaries: Hyde Charitable Trust, which, through its Youth Plus programme funds regeneration activities that support disadvantaged young people, Hyde Vale, a company devoted to market renting and outright sale and Brent Co-Efficient Ltd, a consortium appointed as the preferred bidder for the Brent PFI project.
Hyde has two specialist operating divisions: Hyde Plus dedicated to community and economic development and INplace responsible for marketing shared ownership, market rent and keyworker homes.
The Group owns or manages over 40,000 homes. We also manage over 6,000 homes in two private finance initiative (PFI) contracts with the London Borough of Islington.
Hyde is a member of the G15 group of London housing associations, working together to build strong, diverse and sustainable communities in the capital.
Service excellence
We have established a track record for providing quality services that are accessible and responsive to our residents’ needs. The Audit Commission has given our housing management service a two-star rating, saying: “Hyde is providing a customer focussed service with staff that are well trained, knowledgeable and can handle most enquiries”.
Regeneration and community development
The Hyde Group has a strong social commitment. Through Hyde Plus, we address some of the most pressing economic and social problems faced by our residents. We also have a strong historic commitment to investment in older housing stock and an impressive record in regenerating council estates.
Developing new homes
Hyde is one of the leading housing association developers. We will develop nearly 3,000 new homes over the next two years supported by £48m grant secured through the NAHP and NPiAH programmes.
Our development programme includes major neighbourhood regeneration projects such as Bermondsey Spa in Southwark, major estate refurbishment projects such as the Packington estate in Islington, and creating new communities such as Oakgrove in Milton Keynes. We are committed to using innovative, modern methods of construction, such as the steel-frame BUMA houses from Poland.
